Dictators with animals, 2005, Acrylics on canvas, 30 x 40 cm

The iconography of rulers often puts an animal as the symbol of strength, artfulness, or virtue aside the portrayed. This series shows fictive portraits of 20th century dictators who are also represented together with animals. Here, however, the chosen species are by no means known from tyrants’ common imagery arsenals although they comment on the nature of the depicted no less.
