Im fotografischen Exil - Rache für Trotzki
Serie von digital bearbeiteten Fotografien, 2002, verschiedene Grössen Nachdem es Stalin gelungen war, seinen Konkurrenten Leo Trotzki zu verbannen, ließ er Trotzkis Bild aus historischen Aufnahmen wegretuschieren. In "Im fotografischen Exil - Rache für Trotzki" taucht das Bild Trotzkis auf Fotografien geschichtlicher Ereignisse auf, bei denen Trotzki nicht zugegen war. Während Stalin das Antlitz Trotzkis aus historischen Aufnahmen wegretuschieren ließ, montiert es der Künstler Jens Kloppmann in historische Aufnahmen hinein. In Photographic Exile - Revenge for Trotzky
Series on digitally wrought photographies, 2002, various Size After Stalin had succeeded in removing his adversary Leo Trotsky, he had Trotsky’s image deleted from all the historical photographs. In the series “In Photographic Exile – Revenge for Trotsky”, however, the picture of Trotsky appears suddenly some three decades later on photographs of historical events at which Trotsky was either not actually present. Whereas Trotsky’s face was air-brushed ourt of the historical photographs on orders from Stalin, Jens Kloppmann mounts it on photos of quite different events.
